EquipmentShare Rental Coordinator Specializes in Making Connections

From the day EquipmentShare opened its branch in Yuma, Arizona, in September 2022, Andi Good has been making connections. As the branch’s rental coordinator, she spends her days sorting through all the logistics required to get customers the equipment they need when they need it. The way she goes about it is anything but transactional.

Each conversation with a co-worker or customer is an opportunity to show she cares.

“What truly sets Andi apart is her warm and approachable personality. She creates meaningful connections with everyone she meets,” said Victor Mendoza, the general manager of the Yuma branch. “She personally speaks with customers and finds out exactly what they are working on to make sure we are providing the right equipment for the job and that the customers are happy with our service and efforts as a whole. I truly believe that is the difference in what sets us apart from the competition.” 

Good joined EquipmentShare after spending more than two years working as a manager in the service department of a local car dealership. Early in her time at EquipmentShare, Good leaned on her co-workers as she learned the terminology of construction equipment, including all the different names a customer might use to refer to the same machine. Prior experience in the construction or equipment rental industry isn’t necessary for new EquipmentShare employees as long as they have the willingness and work ethic to learn. 

“The most important thing is caring,” Good said. “Let your sales reps know you care, because that really does make a difference. When you take a rental order, it’s not just the rep’s order — it becomes your order. It’s about building camaraderie with your fellow employees.”

That caring approach extends to customers, as well, and it has contributed to EquipmentShare quickly building goodwill in Yuma.

“I have had people come in, bring donuts and hang out for a little while just to say thank you for taking care of them,” Good said. “It all goes back to relationships. When you truly show the customer you care, it makes all the difference.”
